ABOUT ADAMA BRYANT

Adama Bryant is the founder and Director of Weekend-Adventures, which provides life-shifting adventures in the arts, sciences and the outdoors to youth (3rd thru 8th grade). These out-of-area experiences are rooted in safety, community, wellness, education, and fun. Our program is always free to families. Citizen Film is currently in production on a documentary film with Adama, profiling several families who have been part of the Weekend-Adventures program. We are building an awareness campaign to roll out with the documentary, which will build partnerships within the Tenderloin to support the youth and their families.

ABOUT CITIZEN FILM AND BLACK ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Many black entrepreneurs in the Bay are committed to creating spaces that keep dollars in their neighborhoods and lift up their communities. Sharing powerful, authentic stories of these entrepreneurs’ work—their dreaming, striving, overcoming challenges and celebrating achievements—is essential to supporting their successes and to manifesting a collective, community-centered vision.

With the support of our partners at San Francisco’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development and The Dream Keeper Initiative, Citizen Film collaborates with Black business owners to tell their stories in creative ways that make a community-building impact.
