Since 2012, Marcus Tartt has transformed lives and communities through entrepreneurship as the Director of Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center. The Center has helped thousands of small businesses launch and grow throughout the Bay Area. Marcus was born and raised in the Bayview and draws on his deep roots in the community to provide invaluable local guidance and drive the Center’s success. By helping entrepreneurs reach new levels of success and self-sufficiency through his entrepreneurship initiatives, Tartt strengthens the community as a whole.

ABOUT CITIZEN FILM AND BLACK ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Many black entrepreneurs in the Bay are committed to creating spaces that keep dollars in their neighborhoods and lift up their communities. Sharing powerful, authentic stories of these entrepreneurs’ work—their dreaming, striving, overcoming challenges and celebrating achievements—is essential to supporting their successes and to manifesting a collective, community-centered vision.
With the support of our partners at San Francisco’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development and The Dream Keeper Initiative, Citizen Film collaborates with Black business owners to tell their stories in creative ways that make a community-building impact.
