ABOUT QUAN MOORE

Unable to find clothing that represented her African heritage, Quan Moore started her own African clothing business Quanies African Shop in 2016. Through her shop, Moore provides high-quality clothing and accessories that celebrate African heritage and designs, including culture earrings, hair wraps, African masks, skirts, and more. Quan’s goals are to build her accounting systems, update her marketing materials, and improve her use of technology for her business.

ABOUT CITIZEN FILM AND BLACK ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Many black entrepreneurs in the Bay are committed to creating spaces that keep dollars in their neighborhoods and lift up their communities. Sharing powerful, authentic stories of these entrepreneurs’ work—their dreaming, striving, overcoming challenges and celebrating achievements—is essential to supporting their successes and to manifesting a collective, community-centered vision.

With the support of our partners at San Francisco’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development and The Dream Keeper Initiative, Citizen Film collaborates with Black business owners to tell their stories in creative ways that make a community-building impact.
