ABOUT SHANTE SAULSBERRY
Shante Saulsberry found her passion for filmmaking while documenting her son’s basketball games. Coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, Saulsberry launched her own production company—A’Shannie Productions—to spread joy and uplift community spirit with positive messaging. Saulsberry provides services to organizations holding events and training sessions as well as creating tribute videos for families who have lost loved ones.

Many black entrepreneurs in the Bay are committed to creating spaces that keep dollars in their neighborhoods and lift up their communities. Sharing powerful, authentic stories of these entrepreneurs’ work—their dreaming, striving, overcoming challenges and celebrating achievements—is essential to supporting their successes and to manifesting a collective, community-centered vision.
With the support of our partners at San Francisco’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development and The Dream Keeper Initiative, Citizen Film collaborates with Black business owners to tell their stories in creative ways that make a community-building impact.
