Ute Releford is a board member of UR Blessings, a nonprofit organization focused on providing food, educational supplies, and mental health resources to children and seniors. The organization also assists previously incarcerated individuals in transitioning back into society and provides positive bereavement support to below poverty/low income families. With tech support, Ute has learned to upgrade her invoicing and her website, and has held more events and expanded programming.

Many black entrepreneurs in the Bay are committed to creating spaces that keep dollars in their neighborhoods and lift up their communities. Sharing powerful, authentic stories of these entrepreneurs’ work—their dreaming, striving, overcoming challenges and celebrating achievements—is essential to supporting their successes and to manifesting a collective, community-centered vision.
With the support of our partners at San Francisco’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development and The Dream Keeper Initiative, Citizen Film collaborates with Black business owners to tell their stories in creative ways that make a community-building impact.
