Piper Stories of Transformation: Kathryn Blake

ABOUT KATHRYN BLAKE

“What is the relationship between the museum and external experience?” After working in the Phoenix Art Museum for 23 years, Kathryn Blake used the Piper Fellowship to travel the U.S. and abroad, studying museum exhibitions and educational programs in order to design interactive learning opportunities that engage a broad and changing audience. She took the space away from her career to think about exhibitions and art away from what was familiar. “You have to take away the parameters to think what else is possible,” Blake said.
