New Community Leadership Foundation is paving the way for local artists, nonprofits and small businesses to strengthen their disenfranchised communities. One such change maker is Walter Redding Jr, who uses his aspiring rap career to show the power of art and of positivity born from collaboration.
ABOUT NARRATIVE SHIFT
With support from the Dream Keeper Initiative and the Human Rights Commission, Narrative Shift lifts up unseen, untold stories from San Francisco’s Black community—people and organizations too often mis- or underrepresented in mainstream news and storytelling. The suite of projects includes video diaries, short films, dance and theater projects and more. Narrative Shift puts storytelling tools (filming, recording, interviewing, etc) directly in the hands of those from communities most directly impacted by historic and cultural exclusion.
