In 2013, Piper Trust Fellow Patricia Klahr completed three prestigious leadership courses to influence her work as the CEO of the domestic violence organization Chrysalis. Along the way, she explored her personal obstacles to leadership. “This opportunity has been my own chrysalis, my own transformation.”

The Piper Fellows program acknowledges the never-ceasing demands of nonprofit leadership and offers opportunities for nonprofit leaders to reach, retool, and revitalize. Each year, the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust offers up to six fellowship awards to support professional development for outstanding leaders of nonprofit organizations serving Maricopa County.
