ABOUT THE VIRGINIA G. PIPER CHARITABLE TRUST

This promotional film is part of a suite of short documentaries Citizen Film created to help Phoenix-based Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust showcase its plan that forges partnerships between successful retirees and nonprofits that serve the community’s most marginalized members. Highly skilled, retiring professionals don’t always know how to start giving back to their communities. The films we create for the Piper Trust show examples of partnerships that harness the power of retirees’ well-honed professional skills, while also opening retirees’ eyes to the possibility of an “encore career.”

MORE About THE VIRGINIA G. PIPER CHARITABLE TRUST

http://pipertrust.org/encore/

Every two years, Piper Trust Encore Prizes for Exceptional Organizations recognize nonprofits and public agencies that are pioneering new ways of involving adults, age 50+, in solving problems, meeting important social needs, and improving life for people and communities.

The encore concept—engaging people age 50+ in roles that combine personal meaning with social impact—is growing across the country, and particularly in Phoenix with its 1.1 million baby boomers. As such, it’s critical to understand this population’s great potential for positive impact on the region’s communities.
